Revenue chain mapper
Lay out the steps between the value that enters your process and the value you end up keeping, put your own assumption on each step, and see the gap as a waterfall. It helps you decide where to look first. It does not find losses.
1. START HERE
Pick a sector preset, then change anything
Illustrative placeholder, not a benchmark. Enter your own figure in EUR.
Preset percentages are illustrative assumptions, not forecasts, targets or industry figures.
2. THE STEPS AND YOUR ASSUMPTIONS
Each percentage applies to the value still left at that step
| # | Step | Assumed gap at this step (%) | What happens here |
|---|
3. THE WATERFALL
| Step | Assumed gap | Value at this step (EUR) | Value left (EUR) | Worth of 1 percentage point (EUR) |
|---|
The arithmetic is sequential: step 2 applies to what is left after step 1, and so on. Because the percentages are your assumptions, the result shows how your assumptions add up. It does not show that any gap exists. The values require verification against your own data.
4. WHERE TO LOOK AND WHAT DATA HELPS
Starting points for each step. Edit to suit your process.
| Step | Indicators and places to look |
|---|
Indicators point to areas that need checking. They are not findings about any customer, person or team. The Data request builder can turn the data for each step into a request list.
This is a planning aid. The steps and starting percentages are illustrative assumptions, not benchmarks, forecasts or findings. It does not detect or confirm loss, fraud or theft, and it says nothing about any customer, person or team. Results are indicators that require verification and human review.
